ProFractional – Fractional Laser Resurfacing

ProFractional is a highly effective laser treatment used to improve the overall appearance of the skin. This treatment is ideal for patients who wish to improve the appearance of scars, wrinkles or sun damage through a safe procedure with minimal downtime.

Dr. Dang performs this procedure in office and custom tailors treatments to each individual patient’s needs.

ProFractional uses a tiny laser beam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin. Because only a fraction of your skin is directly treated with the laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing. This wound healing response in the skin also creates new collagen which adds firmness and resilience to the skin.

Prior to treatment with the ProFractional laser, your eyes will be protected with goggles. ProFractional treatments are tolerated well by most patients, if a topical anesthetic is applied prior to treatment.

Immediately following the procedure you should expect to be red, as if you had a sunburn, and mildly swollen. These symptoms usually subside within the first day or two. Complete healing usually occurs within 5-7 days of treatment.

Your skin is more sensitive following treatment with the ProFractional laser so you must avoid direct sun exposure until you are full healed. It is recommended that you always use sun protection to avoid future damage.

Conditions that can be treated with ProFractional include:

  • Acne Scarring
  • Fine Lines
  • Melasma
  • Actinic Keratoses
  • Wrinkles
  • Pigment Irregularities
